DAMIEN
SPANN

Damien established FNQ Allied Health in 2013 and has nine years of clinical experience as an exercise physiologist. Damien has completed post-graduate studies in diabetes education and specialises in lifestyle intervention, weight management, motivational psychology and diabetes management.

Damien is jovial, talkative, encouraging and loves seeing his clients succeed in their journey. Damien spends most of his professional time in Smithfield but frequents the city for appointments each week.

In his down time, Damien enjoys spending time with his new family at the beach or on the boat out on the reef.

Kyle
Smith

Kyle has been an exercise physiologist since the end of 2016 and I has been working for FNQ Allied Health since mid 2019.

She thoroughly enjoys helping clients to reach their health and fitness goals, whatever they may be.

With experience working in the following areas Kyle is a valuable member of our team:

  • Group fitness
  • Pre/ rehabilitation
  • Spinal injuries
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Stroke
  • Mental health disorders
  • Vision impairment
  • and general personal training

Outside of work you will find Kyle lifting weights, playing Oztag or patting all the animals. 

Mary-Faye
Malan

Mary-Faye graduated from James Cook University in Townsville in 2015 with a Bachelor in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

She has since gained a wealth of experience in the following areas:

  • Running exercise classes for pre and post orthopaedic replacement surgeries
  • Instructed classes for falls prevention and hydrotherapy
  • Assisted in writing return to work programs and the rehabilitation of work place injuries
  • 1 years experience working in Mackay conducting functional capacity evaluations and functional assessments for mining pre-employment medicals. I am also certified in audiometry, spirometry and drug testing
  • Experience with patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes, weight management and various heart and lung conditions including stroke rehabilitation
  • and more recently gained experience with the NDIS seeing clients with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and motor neuron disease

Mary -Faye is also certified in level 1 mat of Pilates, which she uses where she can, she is a big lover of weight training and has competed in 2 bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions.
